Thirtieth Annual Report

2005-06

The Administrative Review Council had a constructive year in 2005-06, completing work on an important project on the scope of judicial review, establishing an advisory group on automated assistance in administrative decision making, making considerable progress with a project on coercive information-gathering powers, and beginning to plan a new project in the regulatory area. The Council also maintained the level of advice it provides on administrative law aspects of Australian Government legislation.

Supplement to 2005-06 Annual Report

The supplement contains the full text of seven letters of advice issued by the Council that were listed in Appendix C of the annual report. Six of the letters were issued in 2005-06.The remaining letter was issued in 2003-04 but was not published in the 2003-04 Annual Report in view of its proximity to the deliberations of government.
