Learning Circles: Crime Prevention and Community Safety
Learning Circles are a way of bringing people together to share knowledge and experience and learn a little more about important community issues through discussions and presentations.
Learning Circles are designed to allow people to explore issues at their own pace, drawing on each other’s knowledge, skills and experience. A learning circle is a group of five to fifteen people who meet to discuss and learn about issues of importance to them and society.
The Australian Government shares the community’s concern about crime and violence and their impact on people’s lives, and this community crime prevention Learning Circle targets issues of crime and the fear of crime in our community. It is organised into eight modules and a Facilitator’s Guide.
