EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AUSTRALIA INSTITUTE
The Emergency Management Australia Institute is a Registered Training Organisation which conducts a range of Australian Government-funded activities designed to improve Australia's capability to mitigate, manage and recover from disasters. The EMA Institute is located at Mt Macedon in Victoria, Australia, and all residential education and training takes place here.
The EMA Library is also located at the EMA Mt. Macedon site.For more information on the venue itself, the facilities, and its availability outside of regular EMA training courses, visit the EMA Conference Centre website.
Activities conducted by the Institute include:
- Residential programs - typically from 2 to 4 days in duration.
- Extension activities - delivered throughout Australia. These activities are held in each State and Territory three times a year.
- The type and location of each activity conducted are negotiated between The Institute and the relevant emergency management training managers.
- Workshops and seminars are based on the national Research & Innovation agenda.
Institute staff provide training, facilitation and problem-solving exercises and activities on a fee-for-service basis, within the limits of available resources.
