Following the Indian Ocean tsunami, EMA has worked closely with education, disaster and emergency management experts from around Australia to develop new material to explain the recent disaster and to support staff and students who may have been affected by the events.

This web-based resource aims to enhance the understanding of emergency management issues faced by students in years 8-10 including students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. It celebrates the diversity of students and acknowledges the educational benefits of incorporating a range of life experiences into teaching and learning. The resource can be applied across a number of cultural backgrounds and adapted for specific cultural, language and religious contexts.
