Locating information from other libraries

Whilst we encourage you to borrow items from the EMA collection, you may find it convenient to access items from a library close to your work or home.

Public Libraries

Locate your local public library by visiting the Australian Libraries Gateway.  Your local public library may be able to obtain items for you from other Australian libraries via Inter-library loan, however there may be a charge involved.  Most public libraries also have selected online databases which members can access.  Check with your local library for details of the services they offer.

University Libraries

Whilst EMA Library does not have a reciprocal borrowing scheme with University Libraries, you are still eligible to access University Library collections on site.  To locate your closest University library, visit the Australian University Library Web Site.  From here you will be able to search individual University library catalogues to locate relevant material.  Please check with individual University Libraries to see if you are eligible to borrow.

Emergency Sector Libraries

If you work in the emergency sector, you may be eligible to borrow from a member of the ALIES (Australasian Libraries In the Emergency Sector).  Please contact your relevant local agency library to determine if you are eligible to borrow.
