Please be advised that the Gazette Office will only be able to publish urgent Special Gazettes on Wednesday 21 May 2008 as staff will be offsite. Requests for Special Gazettes on this day will need to be made via phone on (02) 6203 9009. It is advisable that prior notice of publication of Special Gazettes on 21 May be provided to Gazette staff if possible.

The Attorney-General’s Department has been responsible since July 2002 for publishing the Commonwealth Government Notices Gazettes, including Special and Periodic Gazettes. The publication is managed by the Office of Legislative Drafting – a division within the Attorney-General’s Department. Government Notices Gazettes Online is a website that contains electronic versions of Gazettes published by the Department. (Note that the electronic version appears some time after the paper publication.)

The regular Government Notices Gazette is published each Wednesday (except during the Christmas/New Year period) and contains a large number of notices.

A Special Gazette normally contains a single notice, and may be published at any time. Special Gazettes published during the week are republished at the end of the next regular Gazette.

A Periodic Gazette is published irregularly and may contain multiple notices relating to a specific subject area.
