Disability (Access to Premises - Buildings) Standards

On 2 December 2008, draft Disability (Access to Premises – Buildings) Standards, together with a number of associated documents, were tabled in the House of Representatives.

The Government referred the draft Premises Standards to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs and asked the Committee to conduct consultations on the draft Premises Standards. The Committee reported to Parliament on 15 June 2009. View a copy of the Committee’s report, Access All Areas. The Government is now considering the report.

Drafts of the Australian Standards AS 1428.1, AS/NZS 1428.4.1, and AS/NZS 2890.6, referred to in the Premises Standards are now available on the House Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs website.
