Treaties

The Attorney-General's Department administers treaties covering international criminal legal cooperation issues for which the Attorney-General and the Minister for Home Affairs have portfolio responsibility.

The International Legal Cooperation Section coordinates and participates in negotiations on behalf of Australia for bilateral and multilateral treaties on international crime cooperation including extradition, mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and international transfer of prisoners.
