International custody registration

Australia is under reciprocal arrangements with a select list of countries under the Family Law Act 1975.

If the incoming or outgoing application comes from a country listed within this schedule, then the Australian Government Attorney-General's Department can assist with the registration of these orders. If the country is not listed, then the Department cannot assist and the applicant should seek mirror orders from the Family Court of Australia.
