Outline of communication 1335/2004 - Concerning treatment in immigration detention

The communication concerns the potential removal from Australia of a family consisting of parents and six children. The family is no longer in Australia.

The communication alleges that Australia has breached Articles 9(1), 9(4), 7, 17(1), 23(1) and 24(1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The communication also seeks compensation for these breaches in accordance with Article 2(3)(a).
