Briefing the Solicitor-General

As First Law Officer of the Commonwealth, the Attorney-General has responsibility for overseeing the operation of the Solicitor-General chambers.  Guidelines on briefing the Solicitor-General were issued in 2006.  The guidelines contain information on:

  • who may brief the Solicitor-General
  • the process involved in briefing the Solicitor-General

  • costs, and
  • disclosure of Solicitor-General’s opinions.
