Security in Government Conference 2010

Securing Government’s Business

7 – 9 June, National Convention Centre, Canberra

Overview

The National Security Resilience Policy Division, part of the Australian Government Attorney-General’s Department, is hosting the 22nd Security in Government Conference (SIG) at Canberra’s National Convention Centre from 7 – 9 June 2010.

The SIG Conference commenced in 1987 as a meeting of agency security advisers focusing on protective security issues. Since its inception, attendance at the Conference has enabled delegates to engage with public and private sector security experts from a diverse range of fields. The trade exhibition attached to the Conference is extensive and now features over 100 security-related service providers who work closely with both the Government and private sector to provide cutting-edge solutions to protective security issues.

Over the past 12 months the SIG Conference concept has undergone a rigorous review to ensure it continues as the key Government security conference on the annual calendar. The SIG 2010 program will refocus on the information needs of the agency security advisers, information technology security advisers and those members of the private sector contracted to deliver protective security services to Government.

Who should attend?

Senior executives responsible for managing security in agencies, and officers from all levels of government who contribute to the development of security capability and response.

Security practitioners from the public and private sectors who contribute to the provision of services to government and critical infrastructure providers in the following areas:

Private sector service and technology professionals who have responsibility for critical infrastructure resilience and engage with government and the public sector in the security field.

Undergraduate and post-graduate students undertaking studies in security policy, capability development, incident response and policing.
