Indigenous justice and legal assistance
The Indigenous Justice and Legal Assistance Division is responsible for legal assistance policy. The Division administers:
- the Legal Aid program
- the Community Legal Services program
- the Provision of financial assistance for matters arising under a number of statutory and non-statutory schemes, and
- various law and justice programs to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, including legal aid services for Indigenous Australians
The Division consists of two branches:
