Territories and Native Title Division

The Territories and Native Title Division is responsible for administering Australian territories and oversighting self-government in territories that are self‑governed.

The Division is also responsible for providing advice to the Attorney‑General on native title. The Attorney-General administers most parts of the Native Title Act 1993 and has overall responsibility for the native title system.

The Division also provides the International Legal Services Advisory Council with a secretariat and the Attorney-General with advice on international legal services, including engagement in legal services market access negotiations and international legal cooperation activities.
