The Administrative Appeals Tribunal Amendment Bill 2004 contains modest reforms that will better enable the Administrative Appeals Tribunal to flexibly manage its workload and ensure that reviews are conducted as efficiently as possible.  The reforms proposed in the Bill do not involve a fundamental change to the purpose, structure or function of the Tribunal. 
 
The Bill has been publicly released as an Exposure Draft for consideration by interested parties before its introduction into Parliament.  Comments on the Bill are welcome and should be sent to the Assistant Secretary, Administrative Law and Civil Procedure Branch, Attorney-General's Department, Robert Garran Offices,  National Circuit, BARTON ACT 2600.
