Family Law

The Family Law Branch provides legal and policy advice to the Attorney on matters relating to domestic and international family law. This includes the processing and handling of

  • international family law cases relating to adoption, abduction, access, custody, maintenatince, protection, and
  • matters relating to marriage and the Marriage Celebrants Program.

The Branch is also the Central Authority for implementing a number of international family law conventions and treaties.
