
The aim of the two-day Introduction to Protective Security (IPS) course is to provide participants with a general overview of protective security consistent with the Australian Government Protective Security Manual (PSM). The course introduces the knowledge and skills needed for the administration and operation of the protective security function.
The program includes workshops and syndicate discussions that provide an opportunity for participants to apply the skills gained during the course in preparation for their return to the workplace.
The course offers a Statement of Attainment in four units of competency towards a Certificate III in Government (Security). Students may gain the complete Certificate III in Government (Security) by a process of recognition of prior learning (RPL) or may choose to work toward gaining a Certificate IV in Government (Security) by completing the Protective Security Practice course.
