Biography

Acting Administrator - Mr Owen Walsh, aged 44 years.

Owen is a career public servant and senior government lawyer. He graduated from the University of Tasmania with Degrees in Law and Arts and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor.

Previous engagements include the Australian Attorney-General's Department (1990-1995), the Territories Division of the Department of Transport and Regional Services (1996-1998) and the Australian Antarctic Division of the Department of Environment and Heritage (1998, 2003-2004).

Owen was also the Committee Secretary of the Senate Legal and Constitutional Committee of the Australian Parliament from 2005 to 2006. He has also been Official Secretary and Deputy Administrator on Norfolk Island from 1998 to 2003 and from 2006 to 2007.
