In November 2016, the department sought views on ongoing professional development (OPD) requirements and the Guidelines on conflict of interest and benefit to business for Commonwealth-registered marriage celebrants.

Following consultation with Commonwealth-registered celebrants and other key stakeholders, the department’s position on OPD is set out in the following paper:

The Guidelines on conflict of interest and benefit to business have been amended to reflect the new policy position.
