Crime prevention

Crime prevention is important for the safety of all Australians.

We fund and administer a number of crime prevention activities including:

Schools Security Programme – a grants program to help government and non-government schools meet security-related needs.

Proceeds of Crime Act – provides a scheme for tracing, restraining and confiscating the proceeds of crime against Australian law. Confiscated proceeds of crime are re-invested in programs for relevant purposes, including crime prevention and law enforcement.

Grants to Australian Organisations Programme – Crime Stoppers 2015-2019 – a grants program to assist Crime Stoppers Australia Limited to coordinate national crime prevention and detection campaigns and educate the Australian community on avenues to report crime.
