On 15 December 2014, the Government announced that it would consolidate the Australian Government Solicitor (AGS) within the Attorney-General’s Department (AGD). The Judiciary Amendment Act 2015 (No. 64, 2015) to enable the consolidation received Royal Ascent on 16 June 2015. The consolidation will take effect from 1 July 2015.

In respect of functions assumed, the net book values of assets and liabilities to be transferred from the AGS to AGD for no consideration and recognised as at 1 July 2015 are as follows:
