On 22 June 2015, the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs Committee tabled its report Reviewing Troubled Waters: Consideration of the Government response to the 2012 inquiry into arrangements surrounding crimes at sea.

The Government's response to the report was tabled on 15 September 2016.
