Iain Anderson, Deputy Secretary, Legal Services and Families Group

Iain Anderson is the Deputy Secretary, Legal Services and Families Group in the Attorney-General's Department.

Iain is responsible for a range of civil justice policy area and programs including family law, courts and tribunals, elder abuse, constitutional law, royal commissions, legal assistance and legal services policy.

Since joining AGD in 1990, Iain has worked in many areas of the department, including the Australian Government Solicitor, and has led divisions responsible for criminal justice; strategic policy; native title; territories; legal services and classification. He has also been the department's Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for all enabling services, and has led the in-house legal area of the Australian Taxation Office.

Iain has degrees in Law and Economics from Sydney University.
