Improving protections of employees’ wages and entitlements: further strengthening the civil compliance and enforcement framework - discussion paper

Consultation or review
This paper sought input from the community about the operation of the current compliance and enforcement framework. It followed a paper issued on 19 September 2019, titled Improving protections of employee’s wages and entitlements: strengthening penalties for non-compliance, which considered the penalty framework in the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth).

Submissions

Submissions for this consultation are closed.

The discussion paper process, which was paused in March 2020 due to disruptions caused by COVID-19, has been a valuable mechanism for receiving stakeholder input on industrial relations policy issues. The input received through this process formed part of the considerations for the industrial relations working groups held throughout 2020.

The government will continue to advise stakeholders and the public about future consultation on industrial relations policy issues, as appropriate, to ensure a range of views are heard.
