Commonwealth Fraud Control Framework

2017

Fraud
Publication date

Fraud against the Commonwealth is a criminal offence that impacts directly on Australians.

The Framework reflects a move from a compliance approach to a principles-based framework, and maintains the core elements of fraud control: rigorous risk assessments; fraud control plans, and appropriate prevention, detection and investigations measures. It allows Commonwealth entities to manage their fraud risks in a way which best suits the individual circumstances of the entity.
