Universal Periodic Review (UPR) National Report of Australia (Draft)

Publication date

The draft National Report for Australia’s third Universal Periodic Review (UPR) outlines developments in Australia’s domestic human rights frameworks and international obligations and the implementation of accepted recommendations from Australia’s second UPR in 2015.

We invite submissions from civil society on the draft National Report. In particular, to discuss how the Australian Government is reporting on human rights issues in the National Report.

The draft National Report includes three annexes which should be read in conjunction with the report.

Annex 1 outlines the status of implementation of all recommendations Australia received in its second UPR in 2015. Annexes 2 and 3 outline the status of implementation of the voluntary pledges Australia made as part of its second UPR and HRC membership.
