Modern Slavery Expert Advisory Group Terms of Reference

The Modern Slavery Expert Advisory Group advises the Australian Government on issues around the operation of the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act 2018.

This includes:

• practical implementation of strategies to strengthen and continuously improve the Act’s operation, including any recommendations of the Modern Slavery Act Review
• the development of targeted guidance on key aspects of the Reporting Requirement
• how to better identify and remediate actual instances of modern slavery in supply chains
• business engagement and awareness-raising
• how business can better work with civil society to tackle the scourge of modern slavery
• enhancements to the online Modern Slavery Statements Register
• strategies for mitigating modern slavery risks in Commonwealth procurement
• other issues as requested by the department.
