On 30 May 2018, the Attorney-General announced that the government had commissioned a comprehensive review of the legal framework governing the National Intelligence Community. The review presented a classified report to the government in December 2019, and is required to provide an unclassified version of the report in 2020.
On 6 August 2012, the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) commenced its review of counter-terrorism legislation in Australia. The review evaluated the operation, effectiveness and implications of key Commonwealth, state and territory counter-terrorism laws.
