The Identity Verification Services Act 2023 Annual Report 2024–25 details statistics and information on the use and operation of identity verification services between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.

Key statistics include:

  • The Document Verification Service (DVS) was used 133,140,077 times by the Commonwealth, state and territory governments, and the private sector.
  • A of 2,228 entities used the DVS. Of these, 119 were government users and 2,109 were private sector users.
  • Only one government agency used the Face Verification Service (FVS). They used it 2,492,804 times
  • There were no transactions in the Face Identification Service (FIS).
  • There were no data breaches or security incidents.
  • No entities were suspended from making requests for the identity verification services. No entities were terminated from making requests.
  • There were no authorised disclosures of information to prevent threats to life or death.
