2853/2016 concerning the extradition process and detention whilst awaiting extradition

The author alleged that Australia violated articles 2,7, 9(1) and (4), 10(1), 14, 15 and 26 of the ICCPR due to the author’s extradition process and detention in Australia while awaiting extradition. The Committee found the author’s claims relating to articles 9(1) and (4) admissible, but ultimately dismissed these claims based on the merits. The Committee found the author’s claims relating to the other articles inadmissible.
