Pacific Legal Policy Champions Program
The Policy Champions Program aims to build the capacity of Pacific law and justice officers to develop rigorous public policy proposals and enable them to be champions for good policy development practices.
Program participants undertake our Pacific Legal Policy Development Course. They are also trained and supported to deliver the course to their home agency and across government within 3 months of their return home. The intensive program includes discussion on priority policy issues with subject matter experts and government stakeholders from across the Australian Government and academia.
We expect participants to actively engage with our network of Pacific policy alumni and the Pacific Islands Law Officers' Network (PILON). This includes sharing their program experience in Talanoa, the PILON newsletter.

Next Champions Program
The Policy Champions Program will be delivered again in 2025. The program will not run in 2024 to enable our officers to re-engage with Pacific Legal Policy Program alumni and to support the rollout of revised and updated training, including in-country training where possible.
Applications for the 2025 Policy Champions Program are expected to open from late 2024. Please check this website for updates.
