Provisional Transparency Notice issued in relation to the Australia China Economics, Trade and Culture Association

On 6 May 2026, the Secretary of the Attorney-General's Department issued a provisional transparency notice under section 14B of the Foreign Influence Transparency Scheme Act 2018 (FITS Act) declaring the Australia China Economics, Trade and Culture Association (ACETCA) to be a foreign government related entity related to the People's Republic of China for the purposes of the Act.

A person whose interests are affected by a decision to issue, vary or revoke a transparency notice under the FITS Act may, subject to the Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024, apply to the Administrative Review Tribunal for review of the decision (see section 14H of the FITS Act).
