Notice of Intention to Commence Arbitration under the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA) by Zeph Investments Pte Ltd in the Galilee Claim

On 20 October 2023, Australia received a Notice of Intention to Commence Arbitration from Clive Palmer’s Zeph Investments Pte Ltd (‘Zeph’), alleging breaches of Chapter 8 of the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA).

Zeph then provided the Commonwealth with a Notice of Intention to Commence Arbitration and Notice of Arbitration under the ASEAN-Australia New Zealand Free Trade Area (AANZFTA) Agreement in the same matter. Find out more about the Galilee Claim on the Permanent Court of Arbitration website.

The notice for Zeph’s SAFTA application has been made available to the public under Chapter 8, Article 29(1)(a) of SAFTA.
