Migration Inquiry
The Administrative Review Council is currently conducting an inquiry into the operation of the migration-related provisions within the:
- Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024 (Cth) (ART Act)
- Administrative Review Tribunal (Consequential and Transitional Provisions No 1) Act 2024 (Cth) (ART(CTP1) Act).
It follows a request from the Attorney-General on 4 March 2025 for the Council to inquire into this matter.
The Council aims to provide a report on its inquiry to the Attorney-General in December 2026.

Public consultation
The Council published an issues paper and held a public consultation from 28 November 2025 to 27 January 2026. The consultation is now closed.
The Council will consider the submissions received and may conduct further consultation with targeted stakeholders.
