NAJP long-term reforms
In the National Access to Justice Partnership 2025-2030, governments agreed to a series of long-term reforms to develop a stronger and more sustainable legal assistance sector.
Governments and the legal assistance sector are working collaboratively to develop these reforms. Over time they will:
- Embed a data culture, improve data capability and quality and build an evidence base that supports outcomes measurement through the development and implementation of a National Legal Assistance Data Strategy by June 2026 and an Outcomes-Based Framework by 30 June 2027
- Improve attraction and retention in the legal assistance sector through the development and implementation of a National Legal Assistance Workforce Strategy by 30 June 2027
- Prioritise and support progress towards National Agreement on Closing the Gap Priority Reforms and relevant targets and outcomes (particularly 10, 11, 12 and 13) by 30 June 2027.
These reforms build on a substantial body of completed work, including the insights provided by the sector through submissions to the Independent Review of the National Legal Assistance Partnership 2020-25.
