Administrative Review Council – Conflicts of interest procedure

This policy is intended to assist Members of the Administrative Review Council (Council) to meet their obligations under s 259 of the Administrative Review Tribunal Act 2024 (Cth) (ART Act) in relation to the disclosure of interests, and to also meet any applicable common law obligations relating to apprehended bias. 

The procedure details:

• identification of a conflict of interest for the purposes of s 259;
• the process for managing conflicts of interest or apprehended bias; and
• circumstances which may give rise to apprehended bias.
