Social Security Inquiry

1. The Council noted the progress of the Social Security Inquiry and discussed potential recommendations.

Statement of Position

2. The Council discussed responses to the targeted consultation on the draft Statement of Position and the steps required to finalise the Statement of Position.

Protocol for Council Decisions

3. The Council endorsed a Protocol for Making Council Decisions to formalise decisions that ordinarily require a meeting and resolution of the Council, and matters that can be progressed out of session.

Notification from member of the public – land tax

4. The Council discussed a notification received from a member of the public on 11 February 2026 concerning the assessment and enforcement of land tax. The Council decided not to inquire into the issues raised in the notification, noting that land tax is a state matter and does not fall within the Council’s jurisdiction.
