Australian Government - Attorney-General's Department - AGD Graduate Program - We're preparing for the future - are you part of the picture?

Applications for the Policy and Program stream and the Economics stream through the Australian Government Graduate Program (AGGP) have now closed for 2023.

Applications for the Legal Practice and Industrial Relations Legal Stream have now closed for 2023.

As part of your application you will need to provide:

  • a completed application form
  • a response to each of the questions in the application form
  • your current academic transcript
  • a current resume.

Within each stream below, a √ represents eligibility requirements you must meet to be able to apply.

I am an Australian Citizen
You must be an Australian Citizen or can provide citizenship before December 2022 to apply.
My background can be checked.
You must be able to satisfy the minimum requirements of our employment screen check and be willing and able to achieve a baseline or up to an NV1 Security clearance
My formal tertiary qualification/s were completed within the last four years of the program commencing.
My qualification/s are formally recognised/accredited in Australia.
I have completed a minimum tertiary qualification equivalent to a three year Australian undergraduate degree.* * Must have completed a minimum of a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor and is eligible to enrol in a practical legal training course that leads to admission in Australia, be eligible to be admitted in Australia, or be admitted to practice in Australia. * Must have completed a minimum of a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor. An interest in employment and industrial relations law would be well regarded. * Must have completed relevant tertiary qualifications in economics or related fields
