2021-22 Review of the Legislation Act 2003

Closing date
Under Section 59 of the Legislation Act 2003, the Attorney-General was required to appoint a body to review all aspects of the operation of the Legislation Act.

National Register of Enduring Powers of Attorney

Closing date
Attorneys-General from each Australian jurisdiction have agreed to consult on possible arrangements for a National Register of Enduring Powers of Attorney. We have prepared a consultation paper to seek your views.

Reforms to the Native Title Act 1993

Closing date
The page outlines the process of proposed reforms to the Native Title Act 1993 which occurred through the release of an options paper and invitation for consultation. APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules – Australia’s participation

Closing date
In July 2017, the Australian Government invited businesses and interested stakeholders to comment on a discussion paper about Australia's participation in the Cross Border Privacy Rules system. The system was developed by participating APEC economies with the aim of building consumer, business and regulator trust in cross border flows of personal information.

Review of Information sharing in family law and child protection

Closing date
In April 2012, Professor Richard Chisholm AM was engaged by the department to assist with the development of a best practice framework to improve the exchange of information by the federal family courts and the state and territory child protection systems. Outcomes were published in 2013 and 2014.
